The Highly Anticipated 2024 Films

Anticipate a tonne of threequels, sequels, and prequels on the big screen in 2024, some of which may have been postponed because of the Hollywood strikes.

The strikes by actors and writers may have delayed the release of some films, but there will still be a ton of films for audiences to enjoy in the upcoming year.

There are many options available if superhero and comic book movies are your thing, including “Madame Web,” “Deadpool 3,” “Venom 3,” and “Joker: Folie a Deux.”

Otherwise, don’t miss “Back to Black,” a biopic about Amy Winehouse, and “One Love: The Bob Marley Story,” two eagerly anticipated films about well-known singers.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” “Kung Fu Panda 4,” “Inside Out 2,” “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” and “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” are among the other highly anticipated sequels.

Among the well-known directors involved are George Miller for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” Luca Guadagnino for “Challengers,” Bong Joon-Ho for “Mickey 17,” and Lee Isaac Chung, the director of “Minari,” for “Twisters.”

Along with plenty of scares, horror fans can look forward to the sequels “A Quiet Place: Day One,” “Saw XI,” and “Terrifier 3.”

So get ready for these upcoming films, which should make this an incredible year at the box office.

1 Rude Girls (12 January)

No, 2024’s “Mean Girls” isn’t precisely a reimagining of the beloved original 2004 picture; rather, it’s a Broadway musical that made its debut in 2018.

Even so, the plot is largely unchanged, albeit with songs added. Cady (Angourie Rice) joins the world of high school, where she is drawn into Regina George’s (Renée Rapp) group, The Plastics.

After forming feelings for Regina’s former boyfriend, Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), Cady and her friends devise a scheme to undermine Regina and undermine her status within the high school community.

This new version is once again written by Tina Fey and directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.

2. February 2, Argylle

The star-studded cast of Matthew Vaughn’s action-comedy “Argylle” includes Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ariana Debose.

The main character, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, is Ellie Conway, a spy novelist who discovers that the events in her books are happening and that the spies she had assumed were imaginary are now pursuing her.

3 Madame Web, February 14

Dakota Johnson plays the title role in Marvel’s “Madame Web,” a clairvoyant paramedic who gains the capacity to see into the future.

After that, she has to work with three other women, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, and Isabela Merced, to try and survive lethal forces.

4 Bob Marley (February 14): One Love

Searching for a heartfelt and melodic Valentine’s Day watch? Kingsley Ben-Adir plays the legendary reggae musician in this biopic, which was produced in collaboration with the singer’s family.

It chronicles his life and career, from the start of his music career to the home shooting in 1976 to his untimely death in 1981 at the age of thirty-six.

5 Dune: Second Part (March 1)

In Denis Villeneuve’s follow-up, Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides continues his quest to avert a catastrophic future and goes on a warpath of vengeance against those who destroyed his family.

Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Stephen McKinley Henderson will all be joining Chalamet. Austin Butler, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, and Souheila Yacoub are among the newcomers.

6 March 4, Kung Fu Panda 4

In the fourth chapter of the acclaimed DreamWorks series “Kung Fu Panda 4,” Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) informs Panda Po (Jack Black) that he will now serve as the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace rather than the Dragon Warrior.

This is soon cut short by the arrival of The Chameleon (Viola Davis), a shape-shifting sorceress who wants to destroy Po by absorbing the kung fu of all the villains. Noodles will have to wait, I suppose.
