Nicolas Cage States: He Has Only 3 or 4 more movies left
Nicolas Cage states that he has “three or four more movies left” to go.
The 59-year-old actor, who is renowned for his prolific output, claims he is aiming for a Hollywood finish line, saying, “I’ve said what I’ve had to say with cinema.”
Nicholas Cage, who will soon turn 60, is one of Hollywood’s busiest actors and appears to be considering retirement. He claims he is almost done making motion pictures.
The actor from Dream Scenario stated to Vanity Fair that he might have three or four more films in him. “I think I’ve expressed what I had to say about cinema. I think I went as far as I could with my film performance. I do want to tighten up and become much more rigorous with my selection procedure. I want to leave on a positive note.
Cage also mentioned that his father passed away at the age of 75 and that he may only have 15 years remaining, “hopefully more.” The married father of three questioned, “What do I want to do with those 15 years, using my father as the model?” “It became very evident to me that I want to be with my family… I’m beginning to solidify my strategy.
Despite this, Cage stated he’s willing to try his hand at acting in other mediums, like a television series, which he has never done.
Since his breakthrough performance in 1983’s Valley Girl, Nicolas Cage has starred in over 100 feature films. In 1996, he was awarded the Oscar for Best Actor for the film Leaving Las Vegas. In 2023 alone, he earned six credits, one of which was for the ironically named The Retirement Plan movie. The actor is receiving some of the greatest reviews of his career for his comedy Dream Scenario, which comes after a highly regarded role in 2021’s Pig.
It is likely that Cage does not mean the four upcoming films he has listed on IMDB as still in various stages of production when he says he has “three of four more movies left.” Cage stated last month that he intended to reduce the number of films he made after turning 60, but his most recent remarks expand on that notion.
The action makes one think of director Quentin Tarantino’s promise to end his career following The Movie Critic, his upcoming tenth film.
Cage’s acting career took off in the latter part of 2009, partly due to his $14 million in overdue taxes that he had to pay the IRS. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, Cage stated, “I decided to work my way out of it.” However, I only worked on films where I felt I could contribute something genuine. I declined a lot of garbage.
It will be interesting to see if Cage follows through on this plan. Cage revealed to THR that he is a better man when he is working and that he becomes restless easily between projects.
“Working makes me a better man because I don’t want to be that guy who sits by a pool and drinks Dom Perignon and mai tais.” “I’ve been that guy between jobs; it’s fun for about two days, and then you realize you need to get well.
” Thus, my job at work has always been to get up in the morning, work out, look at the news, lift weights, run 5 to 8 miles on the elliptical, feed all of my animals, and then call my boys. I’m concentrated and collaborating with other actors when I’m on set.I take great pride in maintaining a tidy lifestyle while filming.”
